Rich and robust with aromas of black cherry, black tea, dark spices, and mocha. Bold and structured showing ripe black currant, cherry, and plum flavors. Very smooth, soft, and supple finish. About: This is a single vineyard, single varietal wine. Nick Goldschmidt was raised in New Zealand, trained in Australia, and now lives in California. He consults and makes wine in six countries. Some of his wines are very expensive; this is one of his “value” wines. And a values it is! Nick names his value wines after his three daughters. The 30-acre Crazy Creek Vineyard lies just east of Geyserville in Sonoma. Its old, low vigor vines consistently produce Cabernet with more power and depth than is typically found in the appellation. The grapes from this vineyard were used to make Simi’s Reserve Cabernet back in the day. Like all of Nick’s wines, this is deeply concentrated and powerful.
